I want to start a part time business from home doing medical billing for small home health care groups but i don’t know where to start. I need information on training, networking, software, costs and of course the mother load, how do i get people to trust me with their outstanding invioces? i understand that there are bad people out there scamming people with the “medical billing angle” how do i spot these people? Also how much should i anticipate needing to get my business up and running?

I got my certificate in Medical Claims and Billing in October 2007 and can not get a job or and interview.I would love to work from home as a medical biller so i can take care of my young son. But every time i apply I”m told that I have no experience and their not willing to give me a chance. Can someone tell me how I can get a job in this field. I fill that I wasted my time and money. In medical billing for Medicaid and Medicare, can someone explain what the difference is when a patient is admitted as inpatient versus observation?
I know the status impacts how much a patient has to pay out of pocket. What I am interested in understanding is how much will a Medicare and Medicaid person be responsible for in both scenario’s?
Ie: Inpatient is ?x % where as an observation patient is only
?xy %.
Is there a source I can access that will answer benefits questions without having to be a member?
