Invoices as a promotion tool
So you thought invoices are only useful to collect payments? But here’s a revelation - you can use the billing contact with your client for business promotion too!
By using invoice promotion you can give back to existing customers and maybe even solicit new work. You may also be able to get new customers.
Here are a few simple suggestions how you can use invoicing as a promotional tool:
- Print a little footer on the invoice to the effect, “10% Off your next purchase with this invoice” and encourage prompt action by giving a deadline, “expires 30 days from now”, etc.
- Add a coupon to your invoice, by either printing it at the bottom to tear off, or include a separate coupon. The advantage of a separate coupon is that your client may give it to someone else who can become a new customer!
- You can also use a coupon promotion to advertise exclusive client product or service specials, thus rewarding and improving client loyalty.
- A great idea is to use the power of client referrals with a “refer-a-friend” promo and reward one or both of them with a discount.
So, in this easy way you can use the necessity of an invoice as a great marketing opportunity! And it won’t cost much.
